Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Welcome to Trendy.Events (or TrendyEvents), a website that uses neural networks and machine learning to analyze current trends on social media networks and video platforms. By accessing and using our website, you agree to these Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy. You can reach us at contact@trendy.events.

This notice is intended to be transparent and easy to read. It does not replace tailored legal advice.

Important Notice

Trendy.Events is an independent service and is not affiliated with, authorized by, or connected to YouTube, TikTok, or any other social media platforms mentioned in our services. We are not endorsed by, sponsored by, or associated with these platforms in any way. Our analysis of trends and content is conducted independently using publicly available data.

2. What information do we collect?

  • Email address – when you join the wait-list, create an account, or purchase a paid plan.
  • Account / profile data – such as your name, avatar, authentication provider (e.g. email, Google), preferred language or country, if you choose to provide them.
  • Usage data – aggregated analytics such as page views, referrers, device and browser type, and approximate region (city/region/country), as provided by our analytics tools.
  • Technical log data – IP address, timestamps and user agent in server and security logs, for example when you sign in, we detect abuse, or our systems raise an error.

Cookies, local storage and analytics

We use a small amount of storage on your device to make the site work and to understand how it is used. This includes:

  • Strictly necessary cookies and local storage – small first-party cookies and browser storage entries that are required for the service you request, for example to: remember your language/country preference, keep you logged in, and remember whether you have accepted or declined optional analytics. These are technically necessary and cannot be switched off in our systems, but you can block them in your browser (the site may then not work correctly).
  • Optional analytics – we use Vercel Web Analytics, a first-party, cookieless analytics tool. It gives us aggregated information about visits (page views, referrers, device and browser type, and approximate region). Vercel identifies visits using a short-lived hash of the incoming request instead of cookies, and only aggregated statistics are available to us. We only enable analytics after you click "Accept" in the cookie banner, and you can turn it off again at any time via the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or trackers from ad networks.

Email tracking: Our optional marketing emails may include a small, invisible image (pixel) that helps us understand if emails were opened. This tracking is used solely to improve our email campaigns and measure engagement. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encryption in transit (HTTPS) for data transmission
  • Regular security updates
  • Access controls and authentication mechanisms
  • Secure data storage with reputable infrastructure providers
  • Regular backups and disaster recovery procedures

Who processes your data for us

  • Payments: Stripe (payment processing & receipts)
  • Database/infra: Supabase (data storage and authentication)
  • Email transport: PrivateEmail or similar providers (transactional & consent emails)
  • Hosting, CDN, error logging and analytics providers as described in this notice (including Vercel)

Where data leaves the EEA/UK, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and other appropriate safeguards.

International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside your residence. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place through Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and other legal mechanisms. We only transfer data to countries that provide an adequate level of data protection or where we have implemented appropriate safeguards.

How we process your data

Our data processing includes:

  • Automated analysis of social media trends using machine learning
  • Aggregation of public data for trend identification
  • Personalization of your dashboard based on your preferences
  • System improvements based on anonymous and aggregated usage patterns
  • Communication about service updates and improvements

3. Why do we need this data?

• To create and manage your account and provide the service you requested.
• To send you updates or early-access invites you asked for.
• To understand how many people visit the site, which pages are popular, and improve the product.
• To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and debug technical issues.

Email communications & marketing

When you enter your email on our site, you explicitly request that we send you early-access invites or reminders about access windows. We treat these as service communications you asked us to send.

Any additional product news, promotions or newsletters are optional and sent only if you tick the separate marketing box. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw consent at any time.

4. Legal basis

  • Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract / pre-contractual steps at your request) — to create and manage your account, provide access to the product, send early-access invites and limited reminders you asked for, and handle payments.
  • Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests) — to keep our service secure and reliable (for example, maintaining server and security logs, preventing abuse and fraud, and running low-impact operational analytics).
  • Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent) — for optional marketing updates and for optional analytics (Vercel Web Analytics) and email open tracking. Consent is granular, requires a clear affirmative action (no pre-ticked boxes), and can be withdrawn at any time via the unsubscribe link, by emailing us, or via the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer for analytics.

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe from marketing using the link in any marketing email.
  • Revoke consent by contacting us at contact@trendy.events.
  • Change your analytics and cookie preferences at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer.
  • Service emails about access, security or your purchase may still be sent where needed to perform the service or comply with law.

5. Your rights

You can access, correct, delete, or export your personal data at any time. We will respond to your request without undue delay. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority if you believe we have not handled your data lawfully.

Data Deletion Requests

In accordance with data protection regulations, you have the right to request the deletion of your personal data. You can submit a data deletion request by contacting us at contact@trendy.events. We will process your request and respond within 30 days, confirming the deletion or explaining any reasons for retention where applicable.

How we record consent

If you opt-in to marketing, we store a timestamp, the consent text/version, and technical logs (e.g. IP/user agent) to demonstrate consent. We retain these while you are subscribed and for a reasonable period afterwards to evidence compliance.

When you submit the waitlist form, we store a record containing a timestamp, consent confirmation, form version, and technical logs (IP address, user agent) to demonstrate that you explicitly requested early-access communications. This record is retained while you remain on our waitlist and for compliance purposes.

When you interact with our cookie banner, we store your cookie/analytics preference (accept or decline), together with a timestamp and policy version, in our systems and in a small preference entry in your browser (local storage). This helps us prove that we respected your choice and avoid asking you again on every page load.

We may store a pseudonymous visitor identifier (a random ID that does not directly identify you) in a cookie to associate your cookie preferences with your browsing session. We use this ID to prevent fraud, understand aggregate conversion from visits to purchases, and improve our service. This identifier may be shared with our payment processor (Stripe) in their metadata for fraud prevention purposes.

6. How long we keep it

Wait-list and account emails are kept while you use the service or until you opt out, and for as long as needed to comply with legal obligations (for example, tax and accounting rules).

Analytics data provided by Vercel Web Analytics is anonymized and aggregated. Raw identifiers are short-lived on the provider side, and we only see aggregated statistics, which we may retain for as long as we run this project.

7. Changes

We will post any privacy changes on this page and, if the update is significant, email affected users where appropriate.
